Staff Association

The ASIO Staff Association was formed in 1980 to represent employees in matters affecting their terms and conditions of employment.

It exists to:

• seek the best possible working environment in ASIO
• provide valued services to its members

Elected representatives from across the Organisation form the National Council which is the Association’s policy-making body.

Staff Association representatives participate in a number of corporate committees dealing with issues affecting employees. It also co-chairs the ASIO Consultative Council which is an advisory body that provides a forum for discussion and negotiation on employment and condition of service issues.

The Staff Association also represents employees in Workplace Agreement negotiations.
