ASIO Staff Association

The ASIO Staff Association was formed in 1980 to represent all staff in matter affecting their terms and conditions of employment

A National Council is elected from members of the Association and is representative of all functional areas within ASIO. The National Council is the Association's policy making body.

Staff Association representatives participate in a number of corporate committees dealing with issues affecting staff. It also co-chairs the ASIO Consultative Council which is an advisory body that provides a forum for discussion and negotiation on employment and condition of service issues.

The Staff Association also represents staff in Workplace Agreement negotiations.
